About the Biker Division

A protective product line, not a fashion range

Motorcycle apparel is a technical product. It has to survive abrasion, hold its seams under load and carry impact protectors in the right places — while still looking like something a rider will actually wear.

Our biker division develops and manufactures riding garments in our own garment setup, with a dedicated team covering design, pattern engineering, protective construction, trims and quality control. Every style is built around a defined protection intent, an agreed material package and a documented construction — so that what we sample is what goes into bulk.

We work with brands, distributors and OEM buyers who need a manufacturing partner able to hold a technical specification, not simply cut and sew to a picture.

Protection Zones

Protection allocated by zone, not spread evenly

EN 17092 divides a riding garment into zones according to how likely each area is to make contact with the road and how severe that contact is likely to be. Our constructions follow the same logic, so weight and bulk go where they earn their place.

  • Zone 1 — highest exposure. Areas most likely to take direct impact and sustained abrasion. Heaviest reinforcement and impact protector provision.
  • Zone 2 — moderate exposure. Areas exposed to abrasion but less likely to take primary impact. Reinforced construction and seam strength.
  • Zone 3 — lower exposure. Areas where comfort, fit and airflow are prioritised while the garment still meets its minimum requirements.
Impact protectors themselves are separate certified components, assessed against EN 1621-1:2012 for limb protectors and EN 1621-2:2014 for back protectors. The protector package for your order is confirmed in writing before production.

The Standard

What EN 17092 actually measures

EN 17092 sets performance requirements for protective motorcycle clothing. Garments are placed in classes — AAA, AA and A among them — and each class sets minimum values for impact abrasion resistance, seam strength and tear strength, applied differently across the three zones.

The higher the class, the higher the required values in the most exposed zones. That is why a AAA construction carries more material and more reinforcement than an AA construction of the same silhouette.

Understanding this chart is what makes a specification conversation productive: it tells us where your target class will force construction decisions, and where you still have freedom on fabric, wash and styling.

Development Process

From brief to bulk in seven controlled steps

Each step has an output that has to be agreed before the next one starts. Nothing moves forward on a verbal approval.

Brief & Target Class

We agree the product intent, the target protection class, the market it is sold into and the commercial envelope.

Material Selection

Outer fabric, protective backing, linings, threads and protectors are selected against the target class and your handle and weight preferences.

Pattern & Zone Engineering

Patterns are engineered so reinforcement, protector pockets and seams fall in the correct zones for the target class.

Prototype

A first physical sample is produced and reviewed for fit, protector placement, construction and appearance.

Fit & Construction Review

Corrections are recorded against the tech pack. Revised samples are produced until the construction is signed off.

Testing Route

Where certification is required, the approved construction is submitted for accredited testing through the route agreed with you.

Bulk & Quality Gates

Bulk runs against the approved sample, with inline and final quality gates and a documented inspection record.

Trademark Control

Where you supply branding, labelling and trims, those remain under your control and are used only for your order.

Compliance Route

From target class to market evidence

Protective motorcycle clothing sold into Europe is personal protective equipment. That brings a defined evidence route, and it is worth being clear about who does what.

The framework

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/425 — the PPE Regulation, which governs placing protective motorcycle clothing on the EU market.
  • EN 17092-1:2020 to EN 17092-6:2020 — test methods and class requirements for protective motorcycle garments.
  • EN 1621-1:2012 and EN 1621-2:2014 — requirements for limb and back impact protectors.

Who holds what

We manufacture to the approved construction and supply the documentation that supports it. We do not represent that Innovatex Hub holds a certification unless we state so in writing for a specific product.

Certification is held by the certificate holder named on the certificate, and impact protectors carry their own certification from their producer. Where an order must be supplied as certified protective equipment, the applicable standard, the testing route and the covering certificate are confirmed in writing before production begins.

Development targets, not claims. Where this page names a class such as AAA or AA, that is the development target for the platform. It is not a statement that a finished garment has been certified to that class. Final classification must be supported by accredited testing of the approved style construction, and we will tell you plainly what can and cannot be certified before you commit.
